Climate Change Researchers Day

Purpose:

• To present an overview of Danish knowledge within climate change research related to global climate change challenges
• To increase cooperation between climate change researchers from different disciplines including natural, social, health and economic sciences

Form:

A one-day seminar with plenary presentations and discussions followed by sessions comprising of presentations of ongoing research (also PhD) projects on climate change focusing on global challenges and issues for developing countries. The seminar will be structured according to themes of abstracts received.

Examples of topics to cover are:

  1. Land and water management and resources, including agriculture, rangelands, forests and groundwater.
  2. Human and animal health
  3. Economic drivers and sustainable coping strategies for climate change.
  4. Urban poverty, urban/rural links and climate change
  5. Low carbon energy development
  6. Disaster management

Preliminary programme 15 November:

08.30 - 09.00 - Registration
09.00 - 10.00 - Keynote presentations
10.00 - 12.00 - 2 Parallel sessions - each with one theme and 3-4 presentations
12.00 - 13.00 - Lunch: sandwiches at small tables:
13.00 - 15.00 - 2 Parallel sessions - each with one theme and 3-4 presentations
15.00 - 15.15 - Coffee
15.15 - 16.30 - Plenary discussion - feedback from previous session and discussion of future activities

Organizing Committee:

Climate Change Task Force (CCTF): A joint initiative established by the three Danish Danida supported research networks, Danish Development Research Network (DDRN), Danish Water Forum (DWF), and the Danish Research Network for International Health (Enreca Health). The aim is to address issues of common interest related to climate change research and knowledge management.
