The Bandim Health Project, Guinea Bissau
Institutional background in brief: The Bandim Health Project was initiated in 1978 with the aim of improving child survival in Guinea Bissau. The p roject has in the past 25 years expanded its focus to include Population based health research, primarily focusing on child and maternal health, including studies of the epidemiology or treatment of measles, lower respiratory infection, RSV, diarrhoea, malaria, TB and HIV.The project is currently based on collaboration between the Ministry of Health, Guinea Bissau, Statens Serum Institute Denmark, and researchers affiliated to University of Copenhagen, and University of Aarhus, Denmark
DIIS - Danish Institute for International Studies
The Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) is an independent research institution engaged in research in international affairs. The institute draws up reports and analyses and follows developments in international affairs continuously in order to assess the security and foreign policy situation of Denmark, e.g. aspects of relevance with regard to development policy. DIIS also communicates research findings, analyses and knowledge and performs functions concerning documentation, information and library services.
EASE International
EASE International is a consulting company based in Copenhagen. EASE International's major objective is to carry out analyses, assessments, and evaluations aimed at finding solutions and making recommendations for strategies and policies leading to improvements in peoples' health and welfare in accordance with the ease principle. EASE International target groups are: bilateral and multilateral organisations, NGOs and governments in developing countries and countries in transition.
EHG is a Danish-based health consultancy firm and not-for-profit group established in 1990 working mainly within the field of health care providing technical assistance and support across the globe.

RUC, International Development Studies
International Development Studies, IDS or IU in Danish, at Roskilde University (RUC) was established as an independent subject in 1985. This was done as a response to an increasing trend of internationalisation and globalisation as we later came to know it. The research profile of International Development Studies has the overall aim of addressing and exploring the theme of political, economic and cultural institutions in development from an interdisciplinary angle, taking up the discussion at local, national and international levels.
Communication Studies at Roskilde University (RUC) is a Master programme with a international track for offering a specialised English-language programme for Danish students who wish to prepare themselves for an international job market and for exchange students and guest students who join the Communication Studies programme at Roskilde University. The research profile of Communication includes a focus on strategic communication, communication for development and social change, health communication, qualitative audience studies (reception analysis and audience ethnography), media sociology, media and cultural globalisation, media and ethnicity, especially on HIV/AIDS communication.

Copenhagen HIV Programme (CHIP) is a separate research unit at the Faculty of Health Sciences (Panum Institute) University of Copenhagen. The continued aim of CHIP is the execution of front-line HIV-research. Therefore, we will continue to strengthen our national and international network of collaborating partners, and remain focused on addressing clinically relevant questions that improves patient care.

The most important themes are health systems and society, health in poor societies, disaster management, and prevention, and arctic health.Intervention studies, longitudinal studies, and international comparative studies are performed in collaboration with health care researchers, cultural researchers and social scientists.

The Department of Social Pharmacy performs research and teaching within Social Pharmacy. Social Pharmacy may be defined as the discipline dealing with the role of medicines at the level of the individual, group/organisation and society. Social Pharmacy also embraces the activities of the pharmaceutical profession. Hence, Social Pharmacy spans a variety of themes from the experiences and perceptions of the medicine user to national and international drug policy.
