Danida grants

Since 1996, the Network has received grants by Danida in order to stimulate the dialogue between researchers and users of research. At the inauguration of the Copenhagen School of Global Health on 2 February, 2009, the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation Ulla Tørnæs noted in her speech: "More than ever there is recognition that health issues have implications that extend far beyond the health sector (...). Still, the developing countries bear the heaviest burden. In an environment of globalization, urbanization and rapid technological innovation there is, therefore, an urgent need to rethink the role of research. And ensure that the research we undertake is relevant to improve health in developing countries”.

Danida states at its web site that "Providing grants for research activities and research capacity building is part of Denmark’s international development cooperation. Development research must contribute to enabling Denmark to continue to deliver development assistance that is first rate and effectively contributes to ensuring that globalisation becomes a matter of progress through partnership" (www.danida.dk).

Enreca Health's current project phase runs from 1 August 2009 til 30 June 2011.
